The service has been operating since 1987, originally under the Dockwise name, meeting demand from owners moving their vessels between seasonal cruising grounds. Today DYT's sailing schedules serve the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, the US East Coast, the Pacific West Coast and the South Pacific.
The fleet comprises two purpose-built semi-submersible carriers, including Yacht Servant, which entered service in January 2022. The float-on, float-off process allows yachts to motor directly onto the submerged deck and float off again on arrival, eliminating the need for cranes and minimising the risk of damage during loading.
